Jeremiah's Camp Experience
Jeremiah attended our Spring Forward Summer Camp and started second grade this school year.
Summer learning was more important than ever this year and Jeremiah spent mornings in the classroom with his teacher, Mrs. Anderson.
"It is very rewarding to see all of the time and effort Jeremiah and all of the campers have spent on gaining more literacy and math skills," she said. "Each and every one of the students were determined to do their best while they were at Spring Forward."
Jeremiah's afternoons included games and activities and Fridays he went on field trips to destinations like Wildcat Den State Park, the Putnam and Figge Art Museums, and Boy Scout Camp.
His grandmother said, "He had fun spending time with friends and it was great for him to keep active over summer. I think camp helped us all as we work to get back to normal."
Last school year presented many challenges for students, families and educators. Knowing this, Spring Forward stepped up to nearly doubled our camp program, welcoming more than 600 children at nine schools. This truly special summer was possible because of camp families, teachers, support staff, partners and funders who all committed to making this the best summer ever.
